Penny’s Story.

My normally healthy and easily tanned skin gradually started to become super sensitive to the sun, wind and react to the skin care products I had always used. I spent a fortune trying to find anything that would stop my skin flushing and the soreness.

In desperation I went for a docter's consultation, who confirmed I had a rosacea, I had never heard of it before. He told me that the harsh weather I was experiencing living in Scotland often exposed a tendancy for rosacea and my Celtic genetics where to blame. His advise was to stop eating and drinking everything I enjoyed and to take antibiotics for the inflammation for the rest of my life. I was devastated,I couldn't understand why I had this skin disorder, although I have Celtic and Scandinavian genetics I was the only member of my family to have it.

Soon my normal optimism and determination kicked in and I starting researching everything I could about managing it. Trial and error had shown me that products with alcohol and chemicals felt like acid on my skin but sweet almond oil helped calm it down. I had always had an interest in natural products and now experimented with different plants, herbs and flowers that grew in my garden in Scotland.

The results where encouraging, but I knew I needed to know more. I already had trained in herbal medicine and went on to train in natural skin care and cosmetic formulation.

In 2011 I founded Penny Badger Botanicals so that I could  help other people who suffer from problem skin conditions to get the skin they deserve.

For over ten years I have had the honour of being able to help many people to manage their skin conditions and rebuild their confidence and their lives.

It is my pleasure to answer your skin care questions and concerns and to be able to pass on my personal and professional knowledge, knowing that it will make someones life a little brighter.

Wishing you the very best of health,

Penny x
